Trade global indices like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq
With an index, you trade the performance of an entire group of companies in a single position. It is a practical way to take a view on a country's economy or a sector.
What are indices
A stock index measures the performance of a group of listed companies. The S&P 500, for example, tracks 500 of the largest US companies; the Nasdaq 100 covers the largest non-financial companies on the Nasdaq exchange, with a heavy technology weighting.
Because they combine many companies, indices tend to be less sensitive to news about a single company than individual stocks.
